17 Feb 2025 Records continue to be broken at the Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre
The Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre (AFAC) have set a new standard of excellence, with a record breaking 4000 enrolments in their Swim School. This tremendous milestone was reached by a dedicated team effort of 62 Swim School Instructors, breaking the 4000 enrolment mark for the first time in AFAC history and cementing AFAC as one of the premier swim schools in WA.
6 Feb 2025 WA Liberal Party commit to funding Armadale Regional Recreation Reserve
In another significant milestone, the WA Liberal Party and Opposition Leader Libby Mettam have committed to funding the Armadale Regional Recreation Reserve (ARRR), if elected at the WA State Election in March 2025. Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “We have been tirelessly advocating for this project, and we are extremely pleased that the WA Liberal Party have committed to $20M funding toward Stage 1A of the ARRR, if elected.
5 Feb 2025 Every Woman Triathlon returns to Champion Lakes
The Every Woman Triathlon returns to Champion Lakes on Sunday 9 March 2025, where every pace, every age (7+) and every body type is welcome. Hosted by Triathlon WA and sponsored by the City of Armadale, this is the fifth year of the event, held at the world class Champion Lakes Regatta Centre. The event aims to engage women and girls, and the Kids Triathlon and Fun Run Races are for all genders.
4 Feb 2025 2025 Focus Photographic Competition entries now open
The City of Armadale’s Focus Photographic Competition is officially open, with the theme for 2025 being ‘Architectural Gems’. Architectural Gems has categories for both street level and drone photography, and is open to amateur photographers aged 18 and older, who are Australian residents.

Perth Trail Series will be at Wungong Regional Park on Sunday 9 February 2025, bringing their grassroots trail running event to showcase the beautiful trails in the City of Armadale.
28 Jan 2025 City of Armadale 2025 Citizen of the Year winners announced
On Sunday 26 January 2025, the City of Armadale hosted a Citizenship ceremony, alongside announcing the 2025 Citizen of the Year award winners. The Citizen of the Year Awards are an annual occurrence, presented on Australia Day to outstanding citizens who go above and beyond in their local communities. Nominations come from the community and cover a range of categories.

After many years of advocacy, planning and business case development by the City, we are really excited to see the announcement that the Cook Labor Government, if re-elected, will commit $20 million to fund the Armadale Regional Recreation Reserve (ARRR).
7 Jan 2025 First EV charging stations available at City of Armadale sites
The City of Armadale is now electric vehicle ready, with five EV charging stations installed and operational in the City admin centre and the Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre (AFAC). This project received funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of ARENA’s Driving the Nation Program. This grant was facilitated by the WA Local Government Association (WALGA).
