The City has received an application for the abovementioned proposal which involves the following:

  1. The construction of a telecommunications monopole tower with a height of 40m, 3 panel antennas mounted on a triangular headframe on the monopole, an outdoor equipment cabinet at ground level with cabling and ancillary equipment including 21 radio remote units.

  2. A security fenced compound measuring 7m by 7m and 2.4m high and setback 20.5m from the southern property boundary.

  3. The subject site is zoned Rural Living, is within a Public Drinking Water Resource Protection Area (Priority 2) and is part of Bush Forever Site Number 344. The applicant has proposed the clearing of 0.02ha (200m2) of native vegetation to accommodate the development.

  4. The applicant, Planning Solutions, acting on behalf of Optus Mobile, has advised the City that the purpose of the development is to “relieve congestion from the surrounding base stations” by providing a “significantly improved network coverage and data capacity, including improved in-building coverage”.

  5. The applicant has advised the City that he predicted electromagnetic radiation exposure level from the proposed development will equate to 0.54% out of 100% of the public exposure limit, 246m from the location.
