Each individual artist and each artist planning to operate out of a shared studio is required to complete this form. Collectives need to submit only one form per collective. All registrations will be reviewed, and successful artists will receive confirmation of registration shortly after the closing date, and an informational artist pack.

Registrations close at 5pm AWST on Monday 31 May 2021.

Your phone number and email address will be passed on to the artist liaison, who will be in contact to arrange a photograph of you in your studio, shared studio, or as a collective. This photograph will be provided at no charge.

Open Days
By registering for AHOSAT 2021, to be held 3-12 September, you agree to be present in your studio from 10am to 4pm on all weekend days. Weekdays are optional, but on those you choose to open on, you must be present in your studio from 10am to 4pm. Please indicate when your studio will be open:
General Information
In your answer, please consider: all walkways through the studio space are 1000mm or wider, there is a continuous accessible path of travel to your studio from the street (no obstacles), any steps have handrails, no downward/upward slopes are too steep, the studio is well-lit throughout, etc.
Payment Details

The proposed 2021 AHOSAT registration fee structure is outlined below:

Payment is not due now. Payment will be via credit card with a City of Armadale staff member, who will be in touch via telephone from Wednesday 16 June 2021. Payment will be due by 5pm AWST on Friday 18 June 2021.

Public Liability Insurance

Participating artists will need to ensure their studios are fully covered by appropriate Public Liability Insurance ($10,000,000 limit) and proof of insurance in the form of a Certificate of Currency will be required upon payment of the registration fee, by 5pm AWST on Friday 18 June 2021.

Artist Meetings
Artist planning meetings provide opportunities for participating artists to network, discuss ideas and participate in workshops to support their open studio. While attendance is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged that participating artists attend at least three meetings in the lead up to AHOSAT 2021.

Terms and Conditions

  1. By checking the box below and subsequently submitting this Registration Form, you accept and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. This Registration Form must be submitted by 5pm AWST on Monday 31 May 2021 for consideration for AHOSAT 2021.
  3. If the dates for AHOSAT 2021 are required to be changed, all registrants will be contacted. Those who are still able to participate, will be required to sign a form consenting to the amended dates. Those who aren’t able to participate and whose registration fees have been paid, will be reimbursed these fees in full.
  4. If an artist decides to withdraw their participation from AHOSAT 2021 after the payment of registration fees has been made, reimbursement of fees will be at the discretion of the City of Armadale.
  5. AHOSAT is open to practising artists of all levels producing original works. Assessment of all the artists and collectives who submit a Registration Form will be undertaken by a local artist peer group and City of Armadale staff. Successful artists will be notified prior to 15 June 2021.
  6. All AHOSAT studios must be within the City of Armadale boundaries or in the suburb of Byford. Artists may share studio space or operate within a collective. Collectives will be marketed as group exhibition spaces.
  7. Following confirmation of registration, payment will be due from 16 June 2021. All participating AHOSAT artists will be required to complete payment of the applicable registration fee by 5pm AWST on Friday 18 June 2021 in order to participate in AHOSAT 2021.
  8. Participating artists are required to provide a Certificate of Currency for their $10,000,000 Public Liability Insurance at the time of payment (by 5pm AWST on Friday 18 June) in order to participate in AHOSAT 2021.
  9. Participants acknowledge that the City of Armadale takes no responsibility for the security of artworks displayed, or any other possessions. The responsibility and associated costs of insuring artworks and other items lies with the participating artists.
  10. All costs incurred by the participant associated with taking part in AHOSAT 2021 are the responsibility of the participant.
  11. All participants unconditionally and irrevocably indemnify, release and discharge the City of Armadale and their associated personnel, agencies and companies from any and all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of participation in AHOSAT, including loss of income, personal injury and damage to property, whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.  
  12. The City of Armadale reserves the right to edit and adjust the artist biography submitted along with this form, within reason, to fit any marketing scope limitations.
  13. All participating artists will be responsible for ensuring the information provided on this Registration Form is proof-read and correct for publication purposes.
  14. Participating artists will make themselves available for a studio portrait with the appointed photographer coordinated by the artist liaison. The City of Armadale reserves the right to use these studio images for all future promotional and marketing purposes associated with the AHOSAT project.
  15. During the AHOSAT event, participating artists will need to be present in their studios from 10am to 4pm on all weekend days of AHOSAT 2021 (Saturdays 4 and 11 and Sundays 5 and 12 September 2021), unless otherwise impossible due to unforeseen circumstances, or if specific permission has been granted by the City of Armadale. In the case where an artist cannot be present, then the artist will be required to roster an appropriate person to host and represent their studio during that time.
  16. The weekdays (Fridays 3 and 10 September, Monday 6, Tuesday 7, Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 September 2021) are optional open days. Should an artist choose to open on these days, they must be open from 10am to 4pm.
  17. Participating artists will be required to complete a Visitation and Sales Form supplied by the City of Armadale for each day their studio is open. The completed forms must be returned to the City of Armadale by 5pm AWST on Friday 24 September 2021 to assist with the final report collation by the City of Armadale.
  18. Prior to the 2021 AHOSAT event, the City of Armadale reserves the right to refund payment and withdraw any entry that does not comply with the Terms and Conditions or which the City of Armadale, in absolute discretion, deems to be offensive or otherwise inappropriate to the aims of the AHOSAT project.
  19. In all matters, all decisions of the City of Armadale will be final and cannot be contested.  No correspondence or discussions will be entertained.
  20. Failure by the City of Armadale to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  21. The City of Armadale reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or cancel AHOSAT 2021 at any time. Reimbursement of fees will be at the discretion of the City of Armadale.
  22. The City of Armadale is collecting entrant’s personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this event.  Upon submission of an application into this event, the City of Armadale may collect participant’s personal information, including name, address, telephone number and other contact details. The City of Armadale will not use this information for any purpose other than that outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
  23. Each participant’s personal information will be handled in accordance with the City of Armadale’s Privacy Statement.  By providing personal information, each participant agrees to the terms of the City of Armadale’s Privacy Statement.  The City of Armadale’s Privacy Statement can be viewed at the City’s website at https://www.armadale.wa.gov.au/privacy-statement
  24. Each participant’s consent continues until the consent is withdrawn in accordance with the applicable law. Participants have the option to withdraw their consent and unsubscribe from receiving any communications at any time.
  25. The City of Armadale agrees to coordinate AHOSAT artist registrations, brochure graphic design, brochure printing, sponsorship agreements, budget management, project reporting and acquittal processes.
  26. Participants agree to adhere to all relevant Government restrictions pertaining to COVID-19 that may be applicable at the time of AHOSAT, including but not limited to, social distancing and hygiene requirements.
