Starting your Facebook page from scratch

Build your social media presence. This hands-on workshop will guide you through the process of setting up your Facebook page for your business. BYO laptop.

This workshop will cover:

  • Starting at your personal page, create your business page from scratch
  • How to brand your page with a cover and profile photo
  • What to include in the company outline and navigation tabs
  • Finding your audience and how to connect from your business not your personal page
  • Ideas for posts and how to save time by scheduling
  • How to attach photos, videos and hyperlinks
  • An overview of the admin and settings functions

Pre-requisite:

  • Participants must already have a Facebook personal page
  • Essential you bring along your laptop and mouse (tablets and mobile phones are not practical, the features/functions are not consistent for group training)
  • Upload to your laptop four photos (company logo, a good landscape photo depicting your business, and two images (eg of products/services/people/topics)

It will give you a chance to discuss specific business issues and gather an insight into the knowledge and experience of fellow City of Armadale business owners.

Request for Quotation Economic Development Strategy 2018-2022

The City of Armadale has a Request for Quotation out for their new Economic Development Strategy 2018- 2022.

The City is currently experiencing high population growth, and was recently identified as the 10th fastest growing local government in Australia by demographers .Informed Decisions.

This new strategy will enable the City to continue to attract business activity and investment, providing direction for informed and strategic economic decisions.

Carey Baptist College Career Expo

Carey Baptist College are holding their Careers Expo on Tuesday 1 August from 1pm to 5.30pm.

They are looking for local businesses to get involved, whether it is through an exhibitor stall or engaging with the students in a time allocated question and answer style forum. This event is targeted at year 10, 11 and 12 students and also their parents or caregivers.

There are 370,000 reasons to partner with the WA Seniors Card program

Western Australian businesses have the chance to put their business in front of thousands of potential customers by offering a discount exclusively to WA Seniors Card members.

The WA Seniors Card program invites businesses to submit a proposal to offer members discounts on goods and services. Simply complete the online form. WA businesses should offer a discount of 10% or savings worth more than $20 in value to members. All business partners joining the WA Seniors Card program are listed in the online discount directory, potentially reaching thousands of seniors.

Stat Attack

In 2015/16, 1,340 dwellings1 were approved for building in the City of Armadale:

  • This means there was an average of 3.7 houses approved a day.
  • This total accounts for over 5% of all approvals in Western Australia, making the City the fifth largest approver of dwellings in the State.
  • The number of dwellings approved in the one year is greater than the number of dwellings built in many of the suburbs between 2011-2016.2 This includes:
    • Seville Grove (383 dwellings)
    • Hilbert (755 dwellings)
    • Champion Lakes (188 dwellings)
