The City of Armadale extends over approximately 546 square kilometres with 221 reserves occupying 1817.9 hectares of public open space.
There are currently 57 reserves containing playground facilities located throughout the City.
Major sporting clubs playing football, cricket, soccer, hockey and tennis use 'active' reserves located throughout the City as their home grounds. For contact and location details about clubs in your area contact the City's Facilities Bookings Office on 9399 0111.
There are currently modular skate facilities located at Gwynne Park, Frye Park and Cross Park. There is also a half-pipe located at Reg Williams Reserve. A BMX facility is located at John Dunn Oval in Kelmscott. The City also offers numerous playgrounds for our little ones to enjoy.
Avid bush walkers will be delighted with the particularly beautiful scenic walks on offer at Forrestdale Lake, Bungendore Park, and Roley Pool.
Large areas of natural bushland within the City have been set aside for the preservation and study of native flora and fauna. These areas include Armadale Settlers Common, Bungendore Park, Lloyd Hughes Reserve and Forrestdale Lake.
With its vast natural beauty the City boasts a number of idyllic picnic areas. Popular spots are located in Minnawarra Park, Araluen Botanic Park, the Canning, Wungong and Churchman's Brook Dams, Araluen County Club, Settlers Common and Forrestdale Lake.
Minnawarra Park is located not far from the Armadale CBD and is one of the City's most loved parks. A towering Port Jackson fig tree frames one corner of the park and aquatic bird life nest on the edges of the lake which originally stemmed from the Neerigen Brook.
Many special events are held within the City's parks and reserves such as the Minnawarra Festival, Karragullen Field Day, Kelmscott Annual Show and the Highland Gathering.
Many of the City's parks and pavilions are available for hire.
Armadale Aquatic Centre
The Armadale Aquatic centre combines an outdoor pool area with numerous waterslides, picnic areas and a children's wading pool creating the perfect setting for summer fun. Located on Champion Drive, Seville Grove, the Centre is a great location for the young and young at heart. This seasonal facility also offers Learn to Swim Programs and other great activities for people of every age. The City continues to maintain and upgrade the facility for the enjoyment of its residents.

Armadale Arena
Are you looking at improving your fitness or wanting to play a social team sport with friends? The Armadale Arena offers a range of programs to suit everyone’s needs. The centre consists of a fully-equipped gym, group fitness studio with 17 classes and motivated instructors to improve your fitness in a vibrant atmosphere. The City also offers a crèche from 9am – 12pm Monday to Friday so parents can get some exercise while their children are supervised by our friendly crèche staff. The City of Armadale has recently resumed managing the centre and new programs coming soon include junior soccer, boxing fitness classes and a new season of junior netball. Araluen Golf Course
Boasting one of the most magnificent golf courses in Western Australia, Araluen attracts players from all over the world. Set amongst the hills with views over the coastal plains, the course provides a unique environment for golfers to perfect their game.
The Araluen Golf Resort is a high quality establishment that offers visitors and Araluen Estate residents access to facilities such as a quality restaurant and function centre. A large, chalet style accommodation complex is in the early stages of its approval.
Araluen Botanic Park
The tranquilly and natural beauty of the nearby Araluen Botanic Park attracts thousands of visitors each year and is the perfect spot for a picnic or leisurely bushwalk. The Yates Springtime at Araluen event showcases the park's signature flower, the tulip, and continues to grow each year.
Continued investment in the paths and trails in both the Araluen Botanic Park and the Darling Range Regional Park will ensure visitors continue to access and enjoy this unique part of the City.
