Services for Seniors and People with a Disability
Books on Wheels
A joint initiative of the City of Armadale and Armadale Home Help, the Books on Wheels Service transports seniors to Seville Grove Library by bus every Wednesday morning to choose their items and enjoy a morning tea.
Bulk loans
Bulk loans are provided to local nursing homes and retirement villages. Items on a range of topics are selected by library staff for use by residents. The library service also responds to requests for special collections from these centres as required. For more information contact any of the City's libraries.
Seniors Christmas Party
Seniors who use the City of Armadale Library service are invited to a Christmas party at Seville Grove Library each year. Entertainment and a morning tea are provided.
DAISY Players
DAISY Players are compact, portable machines designed specifically for the needs of people with a vision or print disability.
Armadale, Kelmscott and Seville Grove Library each have a DAISY player for people to trial on the premises, and the Armadale Library has three machines available for loan to people with a vision or print disability.
These machines will play CD audio-books, music CDs and MP3 CDs, all of which are available for loan from our libraries.
The DAISY Players have been supplied by Vision Australia.
Desktop Magnifier

The Desktop Magnifier allows patrons with difficulty reading small and normal print sizes to magnify text to larger sizes. The brightness can be adjusted and text can be converted to colour or white on a black background.
The Desktop Magnifier is located at the Armadale Library and is accessible during normal library opening hours.
