The City of Armadale event season has kicked off with the Spring into Armadale festival officially beginning on Saturday 15 August.

Spring into Armadale will showcase Armadale as the place to be, explore and experience throughout the upcoming spring months.

“The Festival is a unique series of community events that provide opportunities for all to participate which includes arts, culture, food, wine and nature experiences in the Armadale and hills region during Spring,” said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP.

“The Festival will showcase more than 150 events that will be occurring in the region from August to October including the Araluen Botanic Park It’s Yates Springtime at Araluen Tulip Festival,” he said.

Our major, inaugural events include the So Unexpected Artisan Exhibition and Artists Village, from 5 to 14 September – an exclusive opportunity to see internationally recognised artists, couture designers and musicians in one place.

The Unexpected Couture Fashion Show, on Saturday 12 September, – a spectacular show directed by Catherine Birch, Fashion Advocate featuring regional & local Indigenous models wearing the work of internationally renowned designers and local residents Trudi Pollard and Charlene O’Brien.

Armadale Hills Open Studio Arts Trails, Thursday to Sunday 17 to 20 and 24 to 27 September will highlight the local artists living and working in the City of Armadale including many well-established practitioners and exciting new talents.

On the Trail you will discover extraordinary paintings, many with strong influences from our natural hills environment, innovative textiles and techniques, plus ingenious ceramics and sculptures.

“We have a lot of creativity and talent in our community and Spring into Armadale is our opportunity to showcase that to the State. There is something for everyone with plenty of free, family friendly events, so take a look and enjoy everything this community has to offer,” he said.
