Do you know someone who deserves recognition for their contributions to the local community? There is still time to nominate them for the Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award.
Nominations close on Friday, 27 November, 2015, and City of Armadale residents are urged to acknowledge the achievements of locals and groups who make a difference.
“These long standing awards recognise individuals and groups making outstanding contributions in our local community,” Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said.
“The service of these people and groups contribute to fostering community pride and make our City a greater place to live.”
The awards are free, easy to administer and include:
- Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award.
- Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award for a person under 25 years.
- Premier’s Australia Day Active Citizenship Award for a community group or event.
Nominees must be Australian Citizens and living within the local community and they must have made an important contribution to the City of Armadale community during the current year, or given outstanding service to the community over a number of years.
Nomination forms are available at the City’s Administration Office and Libraries. They can also be sent to you by contacting 9394 5175, emailing info@armadale.wa.gov.au, or download from the awards section of the Australia Day Council website www.citizenoftheyear.com.au/nominate.
Completed nomination forms must be returned to the Australia Day Committee, City of Armadale, Locked Bag No.2, Armadale WA 6992 no later than 27 November 2015.
