The City of Armadale is encouraging residents and ratepayers to ensure they participate in this year’s Local Government elections by voting.

Local Government Elections will be held on Saturday 16 October. Electors have until 6pm to visit the City’s Administration Centre on 7 Orchard Avenue, Armadale to cast their vote.

City of Armadale CEO Joanne Abbiss said we have 15 candidates across six wards up for election, all of whom are very passionate about their local communities.

“The current Mayor, Cr Ruth Butterfield has been re-elected unopposed in the River Ward.

“The Council makes many important decisions that affect the community you live in; from planning and development issues, protecting the bushland and natural reserves in our region, building the economy and local employment opportunities, community events and tourism, to planning for the future of community facilities and infrastructure requirements.

“The person you choose to represent your ward as a councillor can play an essential role in what happens in your area and the overall region.

“It is important that residents and ratepayers ensure their voice is heard by voting for the candidate they think will best represent their local area,” said Joanne Abbiss.

Postal ballots have been posted to electors and if you have not received your ballot by Friday 1st October please contact the City of Armadale to organise a replacement package.
