Population growth in Armadale continues at a high rate. Ten people a day are currently moving into the City and this number will rise to 16 people a day when the City of Armadale’s boundary changes to include the northern part of the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale following Local Government Reform.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said there is a new street of homes rolling out in the City every week, with a new neighbourhood being created every month.

“At the start of the year the City’s population reached 76,885, an increase of 1881 new residents in the last six months alone.

“In this time the City has also approved 1031 residential building applications.

“We are anticipating our new combined population to reach 182,000 by 2031.

“With the growing residential community there will continue to be a huge scope for further business, commercial and industrial investment for many years to come.

“Along with the rapid residential growth the South East Corridor is establishing itself as a key growth centre for the Perth metropolitan area, further cementing its position as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre.

“The Armadale City Centre will be a gateway for retail, commercial and residential activity for the next 20 years. Businesses, developers and residents alike are drawn to the attractive and affordable investment options available and the forecasted growth the area is expected to experience in the years to come,” said Mayor Zelones.
