Armadale Visitor Centre

What better place to find out about the range of things to see and do in the City of Armadale than at the Armadale Visitor Centre?
The City of Armadale Visitor Centre provides information on coming events, tours, accommodation, restaurants, tourist venues and natural attractions in the region. The friendly staff can provide you with helpful advice and take care of all your bookings.
Managed by the City since early 2006 the Armadale Visitor Centre also provides local businesses with the opportunity to showcase their products and services.
The City of Armadale Visitor Centre is located at 40 Jull Street in Armadale. Opening hours are between 9am and 4pm on weekdays and between 11am and 4pm on weekends.

The Minnawarra Historic Precinct
The Minnawarra Historic Precinct is located alongside the City's Administrative Centre and consists of History House Museum, the Old Armadale School Building and the Minnawarra Chapel.
History House Museum
Home of Council's collection of nationally significant Ben Strange political cartoons, History House Museum exhibits professionally curated displays that capture the fascinating history and events which form part of Armadale's heritage.
The Museum offers a wide range of permanent and temporary displays that appeal to young and old alike, as well as a supporting range of other interesting activities.
The Museum also provides a series of Local Government Lesson Plans for Middle Childhood and Early Adolescence students on the importance of laws and how the different levels of government implement them.

Old Armadale School Building
The old Armadale Primary School building is also located in the Minnawarra Precinct. Built in 1900 and transported to the Minnawarra Precinct in 1987 it was the first brick building to be moved intact in the southern hemisphere!

Bert Tyler Vintage Machinery Museum
Come and discover a rare collection of twentieth century engines, including a large woodworking bandsaw used in the Western Australian ship building industry in 1876. The replica Post Office contains early telegraph and other communications equipment. On Tuesdays between 10am and 1pm you can send a telegraph message as part of the Museum's weekly Morse Code demonstrations.
The Vintage Machinery Museum is located at the Armadale Tourist Centre, 40 Jull Street Armadale and opening hours are between 9.30am and 4.30pm daily.

Minnawarra Chapel
The Minnawarra Chapel is located in the Minnawarra Historic Precinct. The Chapel was originally built in 1903 as the Congregational Church and was relocated and rebuilt brick by brick at its current location in 1987.
The Chapel can be viewed for its historical interest during History House Museum or the Local Studies Library's opening hours by calling 9399 0670 or 9399 0641, respectively.
Minnawarra Chapel with its lovely lake outlook is a wonderful place for weddings and can be hired. For more information on facilities to hire in the City of Armadale contact the Booking Office on 9399 0148.
