What is Robot-Proof Text?

Robot -Proof Text or CAPTCHA is a system that prevents automated scripts or "robots" from sending unsolicited junk email from our servers. We can try to detect whether or not a form is being filled out by a human by asking them to complete a small test that humans are normally good at, but computers are not so good at.

The method used on the form you are currently filling out is to ask you to decipher the text in an image which has been distorted to make it hard for computers to read. Generally, people are very good at finding patterns (such as letters and numbers) on a noisy background, so most of the time a human user will be able to complete the form successfully.
