Weekly Domestic Rubbish Collection

What day is my rubbish bin emptied?

Your weekly bin day is determined by the area you live in. Refer to the waste collection map (PDF 2.70 MB) to find out which day to put your bin out. Bins must be placed on the verge by 7am on the day of collection. Do not leave bins out overnight. Stolen bins will be replaced at the ratepayer's expense.

My bin is broken, the lid is missing, a wheel has fallen off...

Mobile garbage bins have a lifespan of approximately 10 years. Most items like lids, pins and wheels can be replaced, free of charge, on your normal collection day. Replacement bins are issued if your bin splits from normal wear and tear. You can notify the City of a damaged bin by calling 9399 0111.

My bin day falls on a public holiday - when will my bin be emptied?

Your rubbish will be collected on all public holidays except Christmas Day, New Years Day, and Good Friday. Changes to collection days on these days will be advertised in the local paper.

I have recently moved to the area, or I am building a house, and I don't have a rubbish bin?

Contact the City on 9399 0111 to arrange for a bin to be delivered to your home.
