Rangers
Council's Rangers respond to community complaints regarding dogs, straying stock, parking, littering and illegal dumping. Rangers maintain and enforce various State acts of parliament, regulations and local laws relating to animals, fire control and parking.
The City's Ranger Services are responsible for the impounding of stray dogs and livestock. All dogs are held for a 96 hour (4 day) period, after which they may be euthanised or made available for re-homing.

In order to provide a safe parking environment the City's Rangers regularly patrol the municipality to ensure all residents and visitors comply with the City's Parking Local Laws. The City's Rangers monitor footpaths, verges, ACROD bays, schools and timed parking in the area.
