Environmental Groups
Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee
The Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee (BEAC) is a Council committee of 12 community representatives. The committee meets bi-monthly to discuss environmental issues in the City. By doing so it:
- provides a link between the community and Council
- facilitates communication between community groups and individuals concerned with the protection of the natural environment
- advises Council on environmental issues
- assists Council to review and create policies
- assists in the development and review of conservation strategies
- fosters and facilitates care and concern for the natural environment
Council appoints members to BEAC every two years. Calls for nominations are publicly advertised.

Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group
The Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group operates in the Canning, Wungong and Southern River Catchments. The group coordinates and plans community action and awareness programs.
South Eastern Regional Centre for Urban Landcare
The South Eastern Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) was formed in 2003 in response to the need for a regional approach to Natural Resource Management in Perth, Western Australia.
The aim of SERCUL is to participate in an integrated approach to catchment management that will see improvements to the health of our waterways and other ecosystems and a cultural change in how the community views and interacts with our environment.

Friends of Groups
Fifteen 'Friends of' Groups are active in the City of Armadale. They are the leaders of positive environmental change in the City, focusing on protecting and enhancing the natural integrity of bushlands, waterways, wetlands and rivers.
The dedication of these groups highlights the community's commitment to preserving our natural environment.
A number of bushland areas in the City of Armadale are lacking Friends Groups to aid in their protection. Involvement can range from casual to dedicated - every little bit helps.

Reserve Custodians
The City of Armadale's 'Reserve Custodians' are people from the community who take on a neighbourhood watch role for local bushland areas. Reserve Custodians increase communication between the Council and local people, and alert the City to any issues that may be affecting a local bushland area.
