When will my junk be collected?
Junk collections occur in the summer usually after the summer school holidays. There is a limit of 12 cubic meters of junk you can place on your verge.
Flyers advising your collection dates are delivered around ten days prior to the collection.
Please note general junk to maximum length of 1.8m (6 feet) will be collected.
Are there any items that will not be collected?
Items that will not be collected include:
- Green waste
- Bricks or rubble
- Sand, cement or lawn sods
- Foodstuffs or household waste
- Tyres
- Asbestos or other fibrous cement products
- Liquids or hazardous waste (ie paint, oil or chemicals)
- Wire
- Gas bottles
- Batteries
- Glass or mirrors
- Television screens and computer monitors
Please note that unsorted rubbish will not be collected.
When placing your junk on the verge please do not obstruct the footpath, sprinkler systems or interrupt your normal bin service.

How do I ensure my junk is collected?
Follow these simple steps to ensure your junk is collected:
- remove self locking doors from refrigerators
- pile scrap metal separately
- sort your rubbish
- place small items in boxes or bags
