Family History Research Centre
Due to the increasing popularity of family history research, the Birtwistle Local Studies Library has extended its services to assist people with the exploration of their family history.
Services

What the Birtwistle Local Studies Library Family History Research Centre has to offer:
- Friendly, experienced genealogists Colleen Fancote, Anne Ellis, Carol Reynolds, Keith Fellowes and Geraldine Mathison are available on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 9am -3.30pm and on Tuesdays between 3pm and 7pm to assist with research. (Bookings essential)
- Ancestry online database which is also available during the Birtwistle Local Studies Library’s regular opening hours, for those who are confident in undertaking their own searches. (Bookings essential)
- Materials that not only help to locate ancestors, but also aid in learning about their lives and ways of presenting family history. These include:

Family Tree Group
Hosted by the Birtwistle Local Studies Library, the Family Tree Group is to allow like-minded people to get together and discuss your family history research experiences over a cup of tea or coffee. Held the last Thursday of each month, at 10am in the Armadale Library Meeting Room. For further information phone the Birtwistle Library on 9399 0641.
